From March 1st to March 3rd, the New Vision Council (NV Council) embarked on a meaningful trip to Kirirom alongside several of our members and our esteemed head teacher, Mr. Pieter. This journey marked a significant milestone for our team, as we had the privilege of making a positive impact on the community by donating essential items to the Coconut School.
Our contributions included a variety of sports equipment, such as volleyballs, basketballs, footballs, jerseys, and badminton rackets, among many other necessities. The donation was met with great enthusiasm and appreciation, reinforcing our commitment to giving back to society. On a side note, we definitely enjoyed our new endeavour of drilling holes into bottle caps.
Beyond the donations, our visit was enriched by the opportunity to engage with the students through an interactive and enjoyable workshop. We organized a series of fun and educational activities designed to inspire creativity, teamwork, and personal growth, such as creative arts, playing traditional games, and imitating silly poses. Coincidentally, we stumbled upon a local ice cream man whom we incentivized to stay and serve the children delectable, creamy popsicles. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and witnessing their enthusiasm made the experience incredibly rewarding for all of us.
This initiative was not only a success but also a testament to our council’s dedication to making a meaningful difference. It strengthened our bond as a team and fueled our motivation to continue our mission of creating a positive and lasting impact in the community.
