In light of the new PPAC8 formation, our athletes have been on fire with the games so far. Just last Thursday, we had a chance to strike against the then-famous ISAPP All-Stars, ISPP Falcons. With numerous supporters from both schools, and of students migrating every game, it was clear that this was a match worth watching.

The High school Boys' A team played exceptionally well, even with the absence of their captain, as he was battling on the frontlines of the Khmer National Examinations. Additionally, with the standard ISPP that had been set and carried for years, it came as no one’s surprise that there was an expectation for them to do well. This time it was different. To everyone’s absolute surprise, the scores were gapped significantly, with East West at a near 7-point lead at one point. They finished the match clean with 2 sets to none, making the match very memorable.
The High School Boys B Team was similarly performing their best as well. With all players present, they took on the opposing team well and brought yet another clean slate of 2-0 wins against ISPP.

On the other side of the gym, the High School Girls’ Team were persevering, despite their own internal predicaments. With the team reduced to 8 athletes and one of them unfortunately injured, they had to play relentless matches with only one substitute player. Nevertheless, as the game went on, the scores were tied neck and neck, and the pressure was immense on which team could take the win. Despite all these internal and external predicaments, the girls managed to spike through and take the second set as well as the first, tallying East West’s wins of 2-0 across all the teams that played.

Crowds formed, applause echoed, and it was definitely a success for our athletes and sports teams. There was a rack of wins to take home and pride to hold on to. The falcons temporarily couldn’t soar, as they were struck by thunder. It is now up to our athletes and coaches to sustain the storm until the impending PPAC8 tournament.
